Cycling in the Iller valley

The Illertal valley is the perfect place to hike and bike.  A variety of excellent trails encircle the municipality of Kirchberg.

In cooperation with our partner Movelo, Camping Christophorus features a rental station. Guests will have the opportunity to discover the exciting landscape by e-bike.

Cycle paths in the Iller valley

The smooth cycle paths located directly on the Iller river that lead from Ulm to Obertsdorf are ideal for a cycling excursion. Here are the area’s very best:

Main-Danube-Lake Constance HW4

The Main-Danube-Lake Constance trail is the primary trail 4, which is tended by the Schwäbischen Albvereins (Swabian Trails & Hiking Association) It leads hikers from Würzburg am Main to Ulm (on the Danube) via the Swabian Jura mountains and onward through Upper Swabia until terminating on the shores of Lake Constance.

The trail is just 2 km from the campsite.

Iller cycle path stage 1 From Kempten to Ulm

The Iller cycle path more or less follows the course of the Iller river, which originates in Oberstdorf at the confluence of Breitach, Stillach and Trettach rivers. This is a perfect riverside excursion on two wheels. The course of the Iller continues through the Allqäu region past the big cities of Kempten, Memmingen and Ulm. Once in Ulm, the Iller joins the Danube river. The Iller cycle path can also be used to connect with the Danube (to the Alps) or Lake Constance-Königssee cycle paths.

The trail is just 0.2 km from the campsite.
